Product Story

The Daffodil Birdhouse brings a fresh spring feeling to the garden, with soft color and floral detail that brighten the view even on gray days.

Small birds really do nest and rest inside. Rain and snow will wick through the felt and air dry once the weather clears, and the wool naturally helps keep the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. In a protected outdoor spot it can last for years. In direct sun, the colors will gently fade over time, but the shape will hold for more than a year outdoors and indefinitely indoors. Handmade by artisans in a fair trade production center in Kathmandu, Nepal, it is crafted from sustainably harvested wool with a jute hanging cord and bamboo perch.

How to clean?

It’s easy to remove old twigs and nesting materials from the handy clean-out hole in the base or through the entry hole. If the outside becomes soiled, a good brushing is usually all that’s needed. If it becomes stained, work the spot with water and mild soap, then rinse and air dry. Do not put into a washing machine or dryer.

A softer place for birds

How to Use the Daffodil Birdhouse

Use the Daffodil Birdhouse as a functional small-bird shelter that also adds handmade color to a porch, protected garden area, tree, or indoor display. The felted shape gives the birdhouse a distinctive sculptural presence while still providing a nesting or resting cavity for small birds.

Natural wool helps buffer temperature and can wick rain or snow before air-drying. Choose this birdhouse when you want bird-friendly function and decorative craft in the same hanging object, especially in a sheltered outdoor location where the colors and form can be enjoyed up close.

Use: Suitable for small birds and indoor/outdoor display. A clean-out opening makes old nesting material easier to remove; follow the listed brushing and spot-cleaning care instructions.

Craft and origin: This dZi Handmade piece is made in Nepal. Small variations in color, texture, or shape can reflect the handcrafted character of the piece.
